Original vintage travel poster: Ravenna, Italy, designed by Attilio Ravaglia, believed to have been created around 1920. This beautiful Italian travel poster is archivally linen backed and ready for framing, with minor touch‑up along the border completed during professional linen backing.
The Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT) produced this poster in collaboration with the Italian State Railways (Ferrovie dello Stato) to promote travel to Ravenna and other historic destinations throughout Italy. It was printed in Naples by Richter & C. for ENIT during the early 1920s.
The artwork highlights the historic Mausoleum of Theodoric the Great (454–526) in Ravenna. The poster presents the monumental circular structure surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery, with a path leading visitors toward the ancient building. The mausoleum remains one of Ravenna’s most important architectural landmarks and a remarkable example of early medieval construction.
