This authentic 1967 Victor Moscoso Big Brother and the Holding Company vintage poster, Neon Rose No. 3 for the Matrix in San Francisco, is a cornerstone of psychedelic rock art in very fine original condition with no pinholes, folds, or damage. Printed in blazing tangerine-orange over electric-blue, the posterized photo-montage by Lisa Bachelis presents all five members against a stars-and-stripes backdrop, with Janis Joplin’s smiling portrait anchored in the lower left just as Cheap Thrills-era fame approached.
Victor Moscoso, Yale-trained under Josef Albers and one of San Francisco’s Big Five, created the Neon Rose series in 1967 to push vibrating color theory to its limit. His signature appears in script lower right, with credits reading 1967 NEON ROSE Photo: LISA BACHELIS and MINORS WELCOME.
