The headline—”Shoot Ships to Germany and help AMERICA WIN”—transforms passive factory work into offensive action. Workers aren’t maintaining production; they’re launching attacks. “He who gives to his work the best that is in him does his bit as truly as the man who fights” equates the shipyard with the battlefield. There’s no difference between riveting steel and pulling a trigger.
