U. S. Shipping Board Emergency Fleet. This poster depicts the American vision of co-operation between a soldier and a machinist. The soldier, surrounded by the flag, is making the same posture (stance) as the machinist. One of the most underrated designs of the entire period, eloquently showing a ship riveter at work in front of a light purple silhouette, unfurled flags, and a yellow background. Perfectly balanced, extraordinarily handsome.
