Located along Australia’s Northeast coast, Tropical North Queensland contains a series of National Parks, including the Wet Tropics Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Parts of the Wet Tropics Rainforest receive as much as 296 inches of rain per year and are home to a large percentage of the continent’s reptile, marsupial, and bird populations.
Made for the Australian National Travel Association (ANTA), National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, ACT.
This poster is missing the bottom text, which has the wording Australia of about 7″. The price reflects the condition.
Lithograph, printed in color, from multiple stones/plates. In 1988, a copy of this rare poster was purchased and placed in the Australian National Gallery.
Australia’s most innovative poster artist, Trompf’s posters have become some of the most reproduced and iconic images in Australian art history (Spearritt, 1991:5)
