Original 1959 “Sint‑Truiden Carnaval!” vintage lithograph poster designed by A. Renson and printed by JOS. Meulemans, Leuven. This vibrant Belgian festival poster is archivally linen backed and in excellent Grade A condition, ready for framing. The poster shows no paper loss, tears, or stains.
Renson created a lively carnival scene featuring a clown or mime beating a large drum, surrounded by dramatic theater masks in black, red, and orange. Behind the festive figure, stylized city towers rise in blue, red, and white, while fireworks burst across a dark blue night sky beneath the bold year “1959.” The composition captures the excitement and theatrical spirit of Belgium’s beloved carnival celebrations.
Carnaval in Sint‑Truiden, Belgium brings the community together each year in the weeks leading up to Lent. The city fills with colorful parades, marching bands, music, dancing, and elaborate costumes.
