Description

Keep the Gangway Clear” is an original British World War II factory safety poster issued by the Ministry of Labour and National Service, Great Britain, circa 1944 (Poster M/LH/208). Produced during the Second World War to promote workplace safety and efficiency in wartime factories, the poster reminds workers to keep aisles and gangways clear of tools and debris to prevent accidents and maintain productivity.

The illustration shows a worker carrying a large crate down a factory aisle, with discarded tools and materials scattered on the floor, emphasizing the dangers of cluttered walkways in industrial environments. Safety posters like this were widely displayed in British factories during WWII as part of government campaigns to reduce workplace accidents and support the war effort.

A known example of this poster is held in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

This is an authentic original vintage poster, professionally linen-backed and preserved. Like all items offered by The Vintage Poster, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
