Description

Original. Mounted on acid-free archival linen. THE SALVATION ARMY LASSIE Oh Boy, That’s The Girl. Keep her on the job. Oh, Boy! That’s the Girl!. United War Work Campaign, 1918.

Produced by the Committee on Public Information Division of Pictorial Publicity.

Advertising the United War Work Campaign is a smiling soldier, and in his hand is a doughnut with a large bite missing from it. He gestures behind him, explaining in the text about him that “Oh Boy! That’s The Girl! The Salvation Army Lassie. Keep her on the job”, is the one who has made him so chipper by giving him the sweet treat that he is munching on. Behind him a young fetching lady clad in army fatigues holds a heaping plate of glazed doughnuts!
