Description
Linen backed horizontal vintage poster from Sweden. It is supposed to be of The Wedding at Cana as depicted in the style of southern Swedish folk art. Wall hangins would be produced with such images from the mid 18th to the mid 19th century in the area between Skåne and Blekinge in the south to Västergötland in the north. They were used as house decorations during feasts such as weddings, baptisms and Christmas.
A rare horizontal format antique poster. This is not a reproduction. Very little, if anything is available on this original poster; presumed to have been printed c. 1910.
