This rare original TWA diorama poster promoting Egypt was designed in 1949 by Rex Werner for Trans World Airlines (TWA). The scene presents one of the world’s most iconic landscapes, featuring the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza rising from the desert sands. In the foreground, travelers ride camels across the desert while a TWA aircraft flies overhead, symbolizing the modern era of international air travel connecting visitors to ancient civilizations.
The image was created using Werner’s distinctive diorama technique, in which miniature architectural models and landscapes were carefully constructed and then photographed to produce dramatic and realistic scenes.
