Michael “Eddie” Edwards (born 1963) is a British ski jumper who became an international sensation at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. Despite limited funding, borrowed equipment, and very little formal support, Edwards nonetheless qualified to represent Great Britain—the country’s first Olympic ski jumper. Though he finished last in both the 70m and 90m events, his courage, cheerful personality, and sheer determination drew worldwide attention. Eddie became a symbol of the Olympic spirit: participation, perseverance, and heart matter as much as victory. His story later inspired the 2016 biographical film Eddie the Eagle.
Professionally linen-backed and in Grade A condition, this rare poster is ready to display. The image captures Eddie Edwards at the height of his improbable rise to fame—an underdog whose determination, charm, and fearlessness made him a global fan favorite.
