Description

Original Rick Griffin Canablis vintage psychedelic European Limited Edition, numbered and in excellent condition. The first printing in the US was about 14” x 20”, but you get the full impact in the larger European format.

Printed in 1967, this European limited edition by Rick Griffin is numbered and features the plate signature in the lower-right corner, with the edition number in the lower-left corner. Bold, playful, and unmistakably psychedelic, “Canablis — Pipe & Cigarette Tobacco” bursts with high-contrast color, ornate/hand-tooled lettering, and a lush still-life composition framed by swaying palms—a quintessential late-60s underground poster aesthetic with equal parts humor and counterculture swagger.

Made to deliver major wall presence in its larger European format, this striking piece also carries a distinctly collectible underground/comix-era look defined by Griffin’s layered iconography, electric palette, and exuberant typography.

Condition & authenticity notes: Unframed—please review photos of the exact poster you would receive. All vintage posters come with a Certificate of Authenticity included in the purchase price, and shipping is secure, insured, and tracked.

Psychedelic/underground comix-era design with ornate lettering and a vivid palette; iconic imagery with saturated hues; display-ready electric blues, yellows, and reds.
