Original 1980 Olympic Soccer Poster – South America by Levi Strauss. This image features a soccer player over the map of South America. Micro script trademark for Levi’s appears on the top right border. This is the Original Lithograph Vintage Poster and represents an extremely rare original first printing from a commissioned series of six posters associated with the Levi’s Olympic promotion.
Condition
The poster is in very fine collector condition. It shows minor, age-appropriate surface wear. Hand signed in pencil lower left (“Illegible signature” with no published name available from auctions; known signed-hand possibilities exist within the Levi’s Olympic poster artist circle, as documented by collectors/auctions).

Collector Notes
This poster belongs to a series of six commissioned by Levi’s as official sponsors for the US team for the 1980 Olympic Games. Each poster emphasized the sport associated with one of the six continents, and records indicate a trial run level of distribution, with limited exposure due to Levi’s abandoning the Moscow promotion when the US pulled out to protest the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan. Hand signed in pencil at the lower left; signature is illegible and the published name is not available from auctions.
