Description

Original Cinémathèque Musée de l’Affiche et de la Publicité (1982) French poster, designed by Razzia (Gérard Courbouleix–Dénériaz). This piece is not a reproduction.

Issued in a limited edition of 150 impressions, this example is hand-signed and numbered (10/150) in graphite, consistent with the artist’s early practice. The poster was produced in connection with the Paris institution dedicated to film heritage and the history of advertising imagery, situating it within a cultural context that bridges cinema, graphic design, and visual communication.

Razzia’s work is associated with a revival of Art Deco-inflected poster design in the late 20th century, characterized by simplified forms, bold color fields, and a refined graphic economy. The composition here—combining cinematic motifs with stylized mechanical elements—reflects that approach while aligning with the institutional identity of the Cinémathèque and the Musée de l’Affiche et de la Publicité.

Lithograph on paper, linen-backed for preservation and stability. The poster is in A- condition, with minor surface loss at the right margin attributable to prior insect exposure, now stabilized through conservation. A scarce, signed example from the original 1982 edition.
